Old, worn, useless pilings such as these stand as sentinels to history on marine beaches all over the country, all over the world. What they tell our imagination is that at a time in the past, and not the recent past, some human endeavor took place here. Was that activity commercial? Recreational? Both? Looking at the remnant pilings, we can only be sure that it was. I am currently using HP Premium Photo Plus Soft Gloss Inkjet 80 lb paper.
