I have a noon easel, a 2 pm easel and a 4pm easel, to capture a very specific kind of light falling from the sky at different times of day, and seasons. My eyes tell my hands how to move the crayons and razor blade for scraping and drawing into the crayon, (what colors to choose, colors that find the shapes), without my willful interference. Listening to my eyes is a form of meditation, being completely present in the moment of seeing.
